First held in 1986, MEFF or the Multicultural Eid Festival & Fair, returned this year in Fairfield, in Sydney's southwest.
SBS Indonesian spoke with several Sydneysiders in attendance and interviewed them about their thoughts on the annual Eid festival.
"The food, the energy, the atmosphere... so many people from different nations. Everyone came together as a community," Roqkel said when asked what she found appealing about the event.

Azzam, an archer of Indonesian descent born in Australia, said that such event is great because people could be exposed to other cultures and "get to see what Islam is".

Meanwhile, a non-Muslim Prisillia attended the festival for the first time. She noted the differences between Eid al-Fitr celebrations in Indonesia and Australia and hoped more events like this could be held to introduce diverse cultures to Australians.

One of the festival's vendors, Nik, said he was enthusiastic about attending the Eid al-Fitr celebration and would bring his Malaysian food business back next year.
