Australia is a very diverse country where over 250 nations with 350 languages. The Labor Party administration wants to showcase the multicultural face of Australia in its increased involvement with the world.
Experts on the panel agree Australia has come a long way since the Federal Government moved away from the racist policies of White Australians and first adopted an official multicultural platform in the 1970s.
But a former Australian diplomat who now works for Cochlear Asia-Pacific, said many people's attitudes towards multiculturalism were still largely superficial.
