Bali is in trouble, but the inspirational, creative and generous spirit of the Creative Spoon community gives some people real hope

Bali’s people have been hit hard by the pandemic. The island relies on the tourist industry and with lock-downs and travel bans the impact has been enormous for those who work in tourism. Many Balinese people who once worked in the kitchens of restaurants and hotels have lost their jobs. But the Balinese are always creative and always inventive.


In 2020 the founders of Komunitas Sendok Kreatif (or the Creative Spoon Community) initiated programs to help their friends and colleagues who once supported themselves and their families by working in the kitchens that served Bali’s tourists.  What were the Creative Spoon team’s programs?
