Donald Trump’s victory in the 2016 US Presidential election surprised many people. The result defied the polls leading up to the election. In 2020 Donald Trump also trails the Democrat Party’s candidate Joe Biden. Can Trump do it again?

American anthropologist Eben Kirksey is currently Associate Professor in the Alfred Deakin Institute in the Faculty of Arts and Education, Deakin University. He considers the candidates’ relative chances by contrasting the political moods of 2016 and 2020. What is his prediction?
