Efforts to raise and provide assistance aimed at those affected by bushfires continue to be carried out by various communities in Australia, including the Indonesian community in Gold Coast.

Thia Taylor, President of KICA (Kusuma Indonesia Community Australia) speaks to SBS Indonesian regarding several fundraising events she was involved in, such as Telethon on January 10 organised by the Multicultural Society Network Gold Coast which managed to raise more than $34,000.

Thia also says that KICA itself will also organise a fundraising event through the Multicultural Day event they will hold on January 25th, which celebrates the cultural diversity of communities in Australia and also coincides with the commemoration of Australia Day.
