Childcare will be free for parents who continue working during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Federal Government will support Australia's 13 thousand childcare centres by paying half their operating costs on the condition they stay open and not charge families for care.


Australia's childcare sector will provide free care to working parents from next week.

 

Education Minister Dan Tehan says the nation's 13 thousand childcare centres will be asked to prioritise the children of essential workers and vulnerable children.
