A response operation continues at the Christmas Island immigration detention centre, to restore order after a riot broke out and a fire was lit, on Tuesday evening.
The Australian Border Force confirmed an operation "to restore order" was taking place after a disturbance at the North West Point Immigration Detention Centre on the island.
Refugees advocates claim several unresolved issues have affected the mental health of detainees.
