Concerns raised about COVID booster program in QLD aged care homes

COVID-19 continues to overwhelm Australia's elderly care industry. One Queensland nursing home has been in the spotlight for the problems the sector is facing.


At the Jeta Gardens elderly care facility in Logan, south of Brisbane, 82 staff and 100 seniors have now been infected with COVID-19. At least 15 people died.
The Federal Government has imposed regulatory action and appointed an advisor for the facility. However, the Queensland Government blamed the Federal Government for the lack of provision of COVID boosters for nursing home residents.
Across Australia The COVID outbreak has spread to more than 1,100 elderly care facilities, while more than 5000 residents and more than 6000 staff are currently infected with the virus.
