A new report has found the COVID-19 pandemic is exacerbating health inequality. It's found people on low incomes and welfare recipients have poorer health than other Australians

A report by the Australian Council of Social Service [[ACOSS]] reveals the pandemic is exacerbating health inequity in Australia.

While it's widely understood that poorer people are less healthy, the report finds people on lower incomes are less likely to be in jobs where they can work from home and are prone to illnesses which can make COVID-19 worse.

These health disparities are also highlighted in a report by Victoria University.

It has found wealthy Australians are living up to 6.4 years longer and the gap appears to be widening.
