Australia is now enjoying more easing of COVID-19 restrictions after several states hit targets of 70% or more of citizens already receiving dual vaccines. But what about the situation of other countries in the world that have reached that limit. Have they succeeded in curbing the spread of Covid-19?

The reality is that COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc around the world.

Like in the UK where citizens are now being warned to prepare for a spike in coronavirus cases as the country's health system is at risk of being overwhelmed.

Russia recorded its highest daily death toll as it joined other countries in a desperate bid to increase vaccination rates.

South Africa is also trying to step up its vaccine efforts. With more than 2.9 million infections and 88,000 deaths reported in the country since the virus outbreak last year.
