Thailand has found a new way to attract back tourists lost to the coronavirus pandemic. Compared with 2019 figures, the number of tourist visits this year fell by tens of millions.


Before the Coronavirus, Thailand welcomed nearly 40 million visitors in 2019, generating about 74 billion Australian dollars - or about 12 percent of gross domestic product.

Inthe first six months of 2022, Thailand saw only 2 million tourist visits.
