Does incarcerating 10 year-old children help them to change their ways?

In almost all Australian states and territories, children as young as ten can be charged with a crime and given a sentence behind bars.


Indigenous children make up two thirds of those between the ages of 10 and 13 who are behind bars.  How does incarceration in their early affect the futures of those children?
