After vocally campaigning for a vote to remain in the European Union, Australia has stepped up its campaign to secure a free trade agreement with the United Kingdom.
Describing Australia's campaign to secure access to the single market as "long and torturous" the former foreign minister Alexander Downer has launched a Fleet Street charm offensive in London.
