Over the past 12 months, there has been a 20 per cent increase in drownings, with 294 deaths recorded in Australia. Several reasons explain the spike in the number of cases.


A new report has revealed these worrying figures, and the Royal Life Saving and Surf Life Saving organisations believe there are effective ways to counter the growing problem.
