Facebook restored Australian news pages after the government agreed to amend its proposed media bargaining code.

The giant social media company decided to lift its blocking of Australian news content and media organizations from its website after the Australian government changed its mandatory pay-bidding law.

Last week Facebook blocked Australian users from sharing, posting or viewing news links in response to Australia's mandatory bargaining code, which seeks to force the tech giant to compensate news publishers for their content.
Publishers, including SBS, panicked because they lost the platform to promote the news freely and widely.
The social media pages of the news organizations went quiet, and even a number of non-news pages were swept away in the ban.
State health department social media pages, charitable and non-profit organizations, and even the Bureau of Meteorology have removed their content.
