As bushfires continue to burn across the country, Australia's Chinese community is being urged to refrain from using fire-crackers in this year’s Lunar New Year celebrations.


When are the Lunar new year celebrations this year?  Why are fire-crackers an important part of the tradition?  This year, does the Chinse community in Australia plan to keep the tradition but without the danger?
