Dr Naprizal, co-ordinator of Environmental Science Studies at Riau University in Sumatera, speaks about the impact of fires and smoke on peoples’ everyday lives.


Why is Riau so prone to fire?   Why does it appear that there has been no progress in combating the fire and smoke over the years?   How are neighbouring countries like Malaysia reacting?  Dr Naprizal explains his deepening concerns.
