Lucy Leonardi is a Sydney-based professional photographer. She admitted that her perspective shifted profoundly following bushfires in Australia at the end of 2019.
The mother of one said the bushfires — known as Black Summer — made her think about what kind of world she wanted to leave for her children in the future.
Driven by the urgent concern for the environment, Lucy has since dedicated herself to tackling climate change through the lens of food and food waste.

Lucy, who calls herself an 'advocate for the environment through food', said that everyone can play a vital role in protecting our planet from climate disaster.

In an interview with SBS Indonesian, Lucy shared her journey of becoming a climate advocate by leveraging her creative expertise and serving as a vital community link to local and federal MPs through Parents for Climate. She also reaches families directly through her book, Food Wise, which teaches households how to eliminate food waste.
