A new wave of violent attacks has erupted against Afghanistan’s Hazara people, as western forces continue to withdraw from the country and more districts fall to the Taliban.

A Department spokesperson said: “Individuals who arrive lawfully in Australia, seek asylum and are found to engage Australia’s non-refoulement obligations may be granted permanent protection, subject to fulfilling relevant visa criteria.”
