A draft report by UNESCO shows that the Great Barrier Reef is not included in the list of endangered World Heritage sites.

Australia's Great Barrier Reef has been included on UNESCO's list of world heritage sites since 1981.
But lately there has been damage on the giant coral reef.

The question is whether it will now be labeled as an endangered site.

According to a UNESCO draft decree due in September, the Great Barrier Reef escaped the endangered list. But Australia must show the efforts it will make to protect it from climate change and other threats, such as dangerous fishing.

UNESCO expects Australia to provide a report on its progress in the next six months.
