An abrupt lock-down was applied to several public housing high-rise buildings in Melbourne due to fears of a coronavirus outbreak. This raised concerns about the quality of this type of accommodation and the hardships residents face.


Dr Amanda Achmadi, Senior Lecturer in Architectural Design in the Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Building at Melbourne University believes we should reassess the suitability of those buildings for public housing.
