The Sounds of Christmas from Asia Pacific project is referred to as a multilingual and intercultural Christmas song project, showcasing the diverse and creative multicultural and multilingual communities in Sydney.
Supported by the City of Sydney’s Matching Grant program, the community music album project features eight Sydney-based vocalists, representing eight different languages which are Samoan, Indonesian, Filipino, Japanese, Tongan, Tamil, Fijian, and Mandarin.
Representing Indonesian, is an IT guy who enjoys singing as well as arranging and playing music, Peter Lazaro. He says that it came as a surprise for him that he was the one whose demo got selected.
"I know there are so many others who can sing, so I didn't expect to be chosen," he says to SBS Indonesian.

Peter says that his intention in sending the demo is that so Indonesian can be represented.
"My participation is because I want Indonesia to be represented," says Peter. "It would be a shame if Bahasa Indonesia is not represented in this album because there are so many Indonesians in Sydney and Australia.
"At least there is one person who represents our beloved language, Bahasa Indonesia."
Sounds of Christmas from Asia Pacific album is available for streaming on December 2021.
