Indonesian Queer Collective: Affirming its Identity

Indonesian Queer Collective (IQC) will host its main Pride Fest 2026 Program as part of Qtopia Sydney Pride Festival 2026 — 18 — 21 May 2026. What does IQC want to celebrate?

Despite only being a year old last April, the IQC was determined to show her true identity. What exactly is the mission of IQC? IQC's founder and chairman, Arozak (Ozak) Salam, stated that through queer arts and cultural diplomacy, they aim to celebrate identity, provide cultural attention, and connect the queer diaspora.

When asked about the aims of the IQC Pride Festival 2026 program, which will take place on May 18 to 21, and what message they want to convey, Arozak said that their identity as LGBTQI+ individuals is not limited to a sense of pride in their own culture.

He believes that most communities still feel they have to choose between their identity and culture.
