The diversity of Indonesia’s natural world is extraordinarily rich. An example is the whale shark. The waters of Cenderawasih Bay in Papua are home to this creature.


Whale shark expert, Jefry Ferdinan Manuhutu, from the University of Papua talks with SBS correspondent Nurhadi Sucahyo about the bay and the whale sharks that inhabit it, including how they are friendly to people and have now become one of the local area’s tourist attractions.
