The COVID-19 pandemic is exposing the exploitation of international students in Australia. SBS investigates the ways in which international students are being taken advantage of.

For Australian universities, overseas student fees have been the largest source of revenue growth in recent years.

The industry supports 250,000 Australian jobs and is the country's third-largest export at more than $38 billion every year, behind iron ore and coal.

But right now, some international students are forced to rely on charity to survive.

Testing for coronavirus is now widely available across Australia. If you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, arrange a test by calling your doctor or contact the Coronavirus Health Information Hotline on 1800 020 080.
