The Australia—Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP) is the Australia—Indonesia Institute's flagship program with the support of the Australian Government.

The Australia Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP) has been running since 1982. It is a collaborative program between the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenpora) which manages the program component in Indonesia, and the Australian government.

To date, more than 1,300 alumni have completed this 15-week program.
Each year, AIYEP selects 42 participants, consisting of 21 young Australians and 21 young Indonesians, who are aged between 21 and 25. They are paired as “Counterpart”.
The pair model aims to strengthen mutual understanding and facilitate cultural exchange.
