Robbie Gaspar, the first Australian to play professional football in Indonesia and now Player Development Manager for the Australian Professional Footballers Association explains the implications of Perth Glory’s decision not to travel to South Korea.


The decision by Perth Glory not to travel to South Korea over concerns about the impact of COVID-19 on Glory’s domestic and international program has raised questions about how the AFC should best deal with the problem for example by rescheduling games or by playing games away from spectators.  It also illustrates how the impact of the coronavirus extends beyond the domains of health and the economy.
