Further distress diplomatic relation between China and U.S. allies at ASEAN summit

tensions broke out at the ASEAN summit between China and the US sparked by Mentrei's US visit to taiwan.


Foreign ministers from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam have met in Phnom Penh for the ASEAN summit.

Alsopresent were foreign ministers from the US, China, Russia and Australia.

Tensionsbetween Taiwan and China overshadowed the agenda, following U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taipei.

TheUS says that merkea have the right to visit Taiwan.

ButChina says that the problem with Taiwan is a domestic one and the U.S. is accused of interfering with their domestic problems.

Chinahas decided not to meet with Japan, a U.S. ally and also stop cooperation with the US on several fronts.
