Preparations are underway in Mecca, Saudi Arabia to receive people taking part in the annual Muslim hajj pilgrimage.

This year, some one million Muslim pilgrims from within Saudi Arabia and from around the world will perform the Hajj after years of restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This year, it starts on Thursday evening, July 7th and ends on Tuesday 12pm.

In 2021, Hajj is limited to 60,000 citizens and residents vaccinated within the kingdom to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
