Mosquirix vaccine offers hope in the fight against malaria

Malaria is a mosquito-borne disease that kills more than 400,000 people a year. In Africa, a child dies of malaria every two minutes, making it far more deadly than COVID-19.


However, now the World Health Organisation has endorsed the world's first malaria vaccine, to target the disease.  The decision followed a review of a pilot program of the vaccine, first made by GlaxoSmithKline in 1987.  How effective will it be?
