Australians told to prepare for hotter and drier conditions this summer


You may have heard the term 'El Nino' recently, which is used to describe Australia's summer forecast.

So what is El Nino?

El Nino is a climate driver that greatly influences Australia's weather.

It is part of a natural cycle associated with periods of sustained warming in the tropical regions of the central and eastern Pacific.

Many countries around the world have declared the event to occur, but the Australian Bureau of Meteorology has not declared it.
