A new 190 million-dollar recycling scheme has been announced by the Federal Government, aimed at boosting the country's recycling capacity.

The federal government says it's committing almost $200 million to what it's calling the "Recycling Modernisation Fund".

The move is set to make Australia more self-sufficient and no longer rely on Asian countries to accept unprocessed waste.
