As part of a broader initiative to keep all Australian children safe online, a new eSmart Digital License has been launched which aims to bridge the digital divide for those in disadvantaged areas.

In reality, like any school subject, navigating the online world is a skill that needs to be taught.
National non-profit children's organization, the Alannah & Madeline Foundation, helps students develop their digital literacy skills with the world's first new educational tool - the eSmart Digital Licensing.
In partnership with Singapore's Institute of Digital Intelligence and Accenture Australia, the online initiative aims to help students aged ten to 14 navigate the digital space.
Just like getting a pen license, students can achieve digital equivalents after taking lessons and passing milestones related to online safety.
