Parents shouldn't delay kids' dental care because of the cost

The Australian Dentists Association says about 1.5 million children do not get their free dental care every year.


The results of a survey conducted by the Australian Dental Association ahead of Dental Health Week, showed 40% of respondents out of 25,000 surfei followers believe that the ideal age for children to start having their teeth examined by a dentist is 2 years.

But according to dental experts, children should start seeing goigi merkea doctors from the moment their first teeth grow.

Routine checkups cost quite a bit, but the government offers children's dental care up to $1,132 to eligible families every two years.

Residents must meet the requirements for the Child Dental Benefit Schedule, among other things, the children's maximum age of 17, be eligible for Medicare, and have one parent or guardian receiving government payments at least once in that year.
