The Indonesian Consul General in Sydney explained what his missions are as well as the meaning behind his unique name.
Since August 2025, Pendekar Muda Leonard Sondakh has served as the Indonesian Consul General in Sydney with a working territory covering Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia.
In an interview with SBS Indonesian, Consul General explained what the highlights and missions of the Indonesian representative in the current period. He highlighted the diversity of the Indonesian diaspora in Sydney and the concern regarding Australian Working Holiday Visa (WHV) holders.
Mr Sondakh said that the WHV needs to be “placed” properly—given the growing popularity of this type of visa for Indonesians—by socialising it especially to those who have already arrived in Australia.
He also explained the meaning behind his unique name.
