In the midst of Borneo's beautiful and lush green tropical forests, there is a hidden destination that combines the beauty of wild nature with authentic cultural wealth: Riam Tinggi Wisata Village (also known as Riam Batu Rajo) in Lamandau Regency, Central Kalimantan.

Riam Tinggi is a tourist village in Lamandau Regency that presents a stunning blend of natural beauty of Borneo and the consistency of Dayak traditions.

The village has become an integral part of the tourism ecosystem of Tanjung Puting National Park in Central Kalimantan.

Many tourists, especially from European regions, choose to continue their adventure to the Tinggi Riam for the sake of diving into the authentic life of the indigenous people.

This dependence on the flow of tourists from Tanjung Puting is recognized by Gogo, Public Relations of the Tourist Sadar Group (Pokdarwis) of Riam Tinggi, as the main strategy at the moment.

Tourist travel agencies also often position Riam Tinggi as an alternative destination for those who want to go beyond just nature tourism and enter into the social scope of inland communities.

The accommodation facilities have been prepared to an adequate standard for foreign tourists.

The cultural experience begins from the moment the foot steps at the village gate through a special welcoming ceremony, in which guests are obliged to cut three wooden bars crosswise using machetes while village elders cast a spell of salvation.

This interaction continues in everyday activities that are the main attraction, such as when tourists are invited directly into the forest to look for groceries with the residents.

In the future, the development of Riam Tinggi is still hitting the wall of limited funds for the improvement of supporting facilities.

Today, the sustainability of tourism there depends largely on continuous cooperation with foreign tour operators who regularly bring guests.

However, precisely because of its isolated location and the real challenges of its journey, Riam Tinggi still retains an exclusive allure for adventurers seeking the authenticity of living amid the lush forests of Borneo.
