Queensland premier apologises over incorrect COVID diagnosis

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has apologised to the family of a Central Queensland man, after official autopsy results revealed his death was wrongly attributed to COVID-19.


Annastacia Palaszczuk said she understood the public to be depressed by the positive COVID19 test turned out to be wrong, but defended the authorities' swift actions.

At that time he was reported as a victim of COVID-19 and was also the first to be identified in the regional city, after showing flu-like symptoms a month before his death,

Health authorities conducted initial tests that showed positive results of the corona virus.

But the official autopsy results released Monday night June 1, now has shown negative results.
