Allergies are one of the fastest growing types of chronic conditions in Australia, with lethal reactions also on the rise.
The federal government has established two new centres that will be focused on research to improve treatment options for those affected by allergies.
The federal government is backing research to get better treatment right, which is worth $26.9 million to create a national Allergy Council - and the nation's first national research centre.
The centre will be led by Associate Professor Kirsten Perrett.
