Marine biologists have long warned about the high population density of coral-eating spiny starfish on the Great Barrier Reef.


Crown-of-thorns starfish populations are again thriving along the Great Barrier Reef. The

new Llaporan by the University of Sydney says researchers found crown-of-thorns starfish in juvenile form are highly resistant to heat, allowing them to survive even through the most severe sea temperature rises caused by global warming.
