The Federal Government will soon announce an election date for a Federal election. On traditional and contemporary platforms, the print and electronic media will cover the election campaign. Traditional media have adapted to new technology but do they also need to change their style of coverage to better inform voters?


Dr Nasya Bahfen is a senior lecturer in media and communications at La Trobe University.  She explains to Sri Dean the obstacles, challenges and dilemmas faced by journalists who want to improve the style and focus of election campaign coverage.
