The workforce of general practitioners in Australia is in crisis

Fatigue, heavy workloads and greater dissatisfaction with their jobs - almost a third of G-Ps in Australia say they will stop practising in the next five years.


Fewer than half of general practitioners in Australia would recommend the profession to their junior colleagues.

More than 70 percent of them feel exhausted.

And nearly a third said they plan to cut back or stop altogether in the next five years.

These are just some of the worrying figures to emerge from a new report from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. The

2023 'Health of the Nation' report shows dissatisfaction among Australian general practitioners is rising - and the consequence is a reduced number of people willing to work in the profession.
