Qantas has reported a statutory loss of $ 2.7 billion, reflecting a decline in travel due to the coronavirus pandemic.

International flights from Australia are not expected to resume before July next year, and currently, Qantas flies only one-fifth of pre-pandemic domestic capacity.

But with many domestic borders also closed, Qantas is calling on the government to come up with a plan that can at least restart key aspects of the aviation business.
