The price of CPO or crude palm oil is currently high and Indonesia, as the world's main producer of palm oil, has the potential to reap huge profits.

The high price of palm oil was not enjoyed optimally by the farmers. Why did that happen?

An palm farmer in Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, Kanisius Tereng, who is also a farmer advocacy officer at the East Kalimantan Palm Oil Farmers Union (SPKS), explains why farmers feel the minimal impact of the current increase in world palm oil prices.

According to him, the scheme of buying and selling oil palm fruit from farmers to industry is too long, involving middlemen who can determine the purchase price.
