The Federal Government has tightened international border rules applying to Australians who live in other countries

Until now, Australian citizens who live in other countries have been allowed to leave Australia without applying for an exemption. However, the rules will change with effect from 11 August 2021.


The Federal Government is defending its decision to force Australians living overseas to apply for an exemption to leave after a visit to Australia.  What has been different reactions to the changes?
