A health report into survivors of the Stolen Generation shows those over aged 50 can expect worse life outcomes compared to other Indigenous people.

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare report also shows there are more than 27 000 survivors in that age group, almost double the figure four years prior with more people since coming forward.

The report reveals that, when compared to other Australians, Indigenous people over the age of 50 are twice as likely to be impacted by a severe disability, while survivors are three times more likely.

The report states there are also more than 140-thousand  adult descendants of the stolen generation, making up 36 percent of the entire Indigenous adult population.
