There has been a high incidence of COVID-19 cases in some aged-care facilities. Both the facilities and their clients appear to be naturally vulnerable, for people to get sick and for the sickness to spread. If the facility is poorly managed the problems increase.
Yulisna Mutia Sari, a lecturer in Indonesia and PhD candidate at the Research Centre for Rehabilitation, Ageing and Independent Living at the School for Primary and Allied Health Care at Monash University suggests that there needs to greater uniformity in operational standards across Australia’s aged-care facilities.
