Thousands of people have taken to the streets of Australia's cities and towns to protest against COVID-19 vaccine mandates and restrictions. A counter-rally decrying "the growth of the far-right" was also staged in Melbourne.

So-called "freedom demonstrations" have been staged in nearly every Australian capital as part of the international day of protest.
In Melbourne, demonstrators had camped outside the Victorian parliament for days, but on Saturday [20 November], thousands more joined in.
Thousands of people marched into Sydney's Hyde Park, with United Australia Party leader Craig Kelly addressing the crowd.
