Some of the nation's biggest universities are raising their international student fees. It means students and educators are facing even more uncertain times ahead.


International students are preparing to return to campus for the first time since March 2020. But rising costs are not the welcome international students are hoping for.

Some universities need to increase foreign tuition fees to offset government funds spent on subsidizing domestic students. But the stance was echoed by the head of the Australian Association for International Education, who said international students were paying three times as much as ordinary domestic students for the same course.
