Vaccine for shingles (herpes-zoster) could ease pain for thousands of people

From November 1, 2023 the Federal Government provides vaccines to eligible communities through the National Immunization Program.


Shingles (shingles) is a very painful disease, accompanied by a number of complications and very common.

The pain from shingles is described as aching, burning, stabbing, or shock-like.

And even after the disease has healed, as many as one in five people suffer from postherpetic neuralgia, a persistent pain that can last for several months to several years afterwards.
