What is the current status of domestic workers (PRT) in Indonesia?

To date, domestic workers, often referred to as PRT in Indonesia, still do not receive their rights as workers. This is because they work in the domestic sphere.


Dr. Valentina Yulita Dyah Utari, a senior researcher at the SMERU Research Institute, and her team are currently researching the status of domestic workers in Indonesia. How can they be able to work in the formal sector, obtain their rights as workers, and receive protection? According to Dr. Valentina Utari's research, this is because domestic workers are not covered by the Manpower Law. So what needs to be done next? Dr. Valentina Utari explains.
